Well, this week went by so so fast! But, we had a lot of good things
happen. Our zone goal for 2 weeks ago was 25 new investigators and
we only got like 22. So, we set a new goal for this past week of 27
and we've found 38!!!! It was awesome! Our zone worked really hard and
me and Hermana Woodbury found 8 of them....8!!!!! It's the most
Hermana Woodbury has ever gotten in her whole mission so far! We are
so excited! Everyone's been asking us how we've gotten so many and we
really don't know...we just put our trust in the Lords hands. Usually
we only get 1 maybe 2 new investigators during the week but this week
we got super lucky.
Tuesday was a good day...that's when we found most of our new
investigators. We had team ups with the STL's and they really helped
us find some new people. Then we went and has an appointment with the
13 year old girl Lupe, but she wasn't home😕 But we got to talk to her
mom and ask how she feels about us teaching Lupe and how she feels
about baptism. She's all for it and really wants Lupe to go to our
church! Seriously so awesome! We're gonna see Lupe again tomorrow so I
can't wait. That day we found 2 other guys outside so we talked to
them for a while and they're so nice. They want us to come back so
we're excited about them too! We also went to see a referral and he's
a cute little old guy who just loves to talk haha. He'll go on forever
about random stuff like Avocados or something lol. So that was fun.
Wednesday we had service at Habitat for Humanity and it was fun. We
had to set up camping stuff to see if they worked and it makes me miss
camping. We also tried finding a lady named Ana in Folsom and another
one of our investigators was at her house because they're friends and
we got to talk to both of them. But, we found out that they're not
really too interested and they're always busy so we "released" them as
President Jardine would say. We also taught the 2 sisters Cesely and
Amaris the plan of salvation to review for them. They're mom still
hasn't made a decision yet on whether they can get baptized. So we're
hoping we'll find out sometime this week. Then we tried to see this
referral from the Rossmore sisters and we knocked on the door and the
kids told us to go away and flipped us off, so that was fun haha😂😂
We tried going over again another day but the guy just looked at us
through the window and then just ignored us...so we released them too.
Thursday was good. We had district meeting and we did How to Begin
Teaching. I learned a lot and it has really helped us try to figure
out which of our investigators want this or not. Elder Craig our
district leader is leaving for home this week!! It's crazy! He gave
his farewell testimony at district meeting and it's so sad. But, he's
super awesome and was a great district leader. We also tried to see
some new investigators but we found out that all they want is money
from the church lol😁 We had to tell them that our church doesn't do
that and then they really had no interest in talking with us. They're
from Spain though and really cool. They speak a bunch of different
languages too.
Friday was great! We had a special Zone training with President and
his wife and the assistants. We also were with 2 other zones so it was
nice seeing a lot of other missionaries😊 Missionaries are just so
awesome and I love it when we are all together! The training was great
and I learned a lot too. We also has weekly planning and we went to
the park and did it there👌🏼it was so nice. Then we had dinner with
the Lopez family and they're really really great. They speak English
so I love talking to them haha. All this week during my 12-week
training we had to watch all of the District 1. I actually don't mind
the videos, they help me a lot. We always laugh though because they're
funny sometimes. Haha😂
Saturday was just a service-full day! We had Habitat for Humanity and
had to set up a king bed. The other sisters had no idea what to do so
I took the screw driver and drilled in the boards and they were all
surprised that I could do it haha. I told them that my dad does this
stuff all the time so I learned from him. Thanks Dad❤️ We had a
little time after to see our investigator Elsa and see how she's
doing. Then we ate dinner at our house with the other sisters and then
headed to our other service. Which was so much fun! Rancho Cordova had
this iFestival thing and we got to volunteer for it! It made me miss
festivals and carnivals but we got to do face paint for little kids.
It was so fun. The zone leaders also were with us and it was
just fun with all of us together.
Sunday was fun and we had a good day. Our branch took a picture
together and it was fun. We had an English speaking too and so Elder
Ortega had to translate for him...but he did so well translating! Also
Elder Craig gave his farewell testimony at church in sacrament so that
was good. We went and tried to see a couple of our investigators and
one that we met on Saturday we were gonna see so we started walking
around this corner in these apartment complexes and I just see his arm
and he just turns around and books it to his house and ran away from
us so we can just say he doesn't want to see us anymore lol.
This week was great and my favorite thing about being here, especially
in Spanish work, is that I get to meet so many people from different
countries and hear their stories of how they got here. I meet people
from Guatemala, Mexican, Peru, Spain, Romania, Brazil, Chile and a
bunch of others! I also get to try all of their food too so that's
awesome. I love the work and I invite all of you to reach out to
someone you know to talk to them about this gospel. Share the
Hallelujah video with them or invite them to church or an activity. Do
service for them! Whatever it is you can do it! You're missionaries
will be so glad you did.❤️ thanks everyone and have a good week!
Hermana Scott
