November 14th
Hola todos!
This week was very crazy and we were really busy, but we've seen some miracles happen so we are super pumped for this coming week! How is everyone anyways? All of our members and investigators have been talking about how Donald trump is now our president. They're all upset and sad now haha. Honestly I don't really pay attention to politics and stuff so all of this has just been whatever for me.

We've been working hard with our investigator Daniel still. It was hard to get lessons with him this past week and it was coming close to finishing his lessons before his interview, but we went over Saturday to have his last lesson and he wasn't thereπŸ˜• Then Hermana Joya, his mom, talked to us and said he wouldn't be able to have a lesson that day and also told us that we have to change his baptismal date to November 26! Daniels dad won't be there for this Saturday, his original baptismal date, so we moved it to the next week. We were sad but we are still happy he's getting baptized! Also that his dad who isn't a member wants to come to! So all is well! I'll attach the little invitation we made on my iPad for the baptism. It's my favorite picture with Daniel so far haha. He's seriously an angel though, we did the baptismal interview questions with him and he passed with flying colors! He's SO prepared to be baptized! Satan is just trying to find little ways to stop it...but we know it's going to happen!

We've been trying to work with our members and less actives on how to use technology better to share the gospel. We haven't see a lot of success yet, but little by little we see miracles every day. I'm so grateful to have an iPad and technology in our mission! Such a blessingπŸ˜„πŸ™πŸΌ Something  our zone is doing right now is we have a calendar and for 25 days, we're finding 25 ways to love the lord more. It's been neat to see the things you do everyday to love the lord more. I just invite all of you to find ways to love the lord more...there's so many ways! And I promise you you'll see the hand of the lord helping you when you search and pray for those opportunities to love the lord more πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Š

Well I hope all is well! I keep you all In my prayers always. Have a wonderful week and let me know how you're doing with loving the lord more in your daily life! Te quiero mucho!❤

November 8th

Hola como estΓ‘n todos?
What a week it has been! I'm seriously loving my mission every single day. This past transfer I worked so hard and I'm now seeing the results of the hard work me and my companions had done in this area. So transfers happened and lucky enough I'm staying here again in North Sac with Hermana Zaugg. Hermana Paredes was called as an STL in East SacπŸ˜ͺ We miss her and our trio but we know she's going to kill it as an STL!!πŸ˜€πŸ˜ I'm super excited for this transfer and for the hard work me and Hermana Zaugg want to do together. I just love Hermana Zaugg...she's seriously so awesome and whenever she testifies it's always so powerful! I love it! We are already having so much fun together. Also now that there's only 2 of us, we both get our own bathrooms and closets haha. The apartment feels so empty now.

We've been working hard with our investigator Daniel who's going to be baptized next Saturday. He's super ready, but it's been a little difficult to teach him more than we'd like. We hope to teach him every night this week so he can be ready for his interview on SundayπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Š I'm so excited for him!

So this week we were able to go to the food bank here with some elders and it was really great to help the community in service. I'm so happy that the mission is focusing more on service. Also it's been nice to be able to help some of the families here in the Ward with little things.
We had an Awesome weekly planning where we had a lot of different ideas on how to use finding time more effectively. We plan to do more service finding opportunities here since it's starting to feel a little bit like fall time here. Also our goal together is that in each contacting opportunity we are going to offer or give a Book of Mormon. We started it on Saturday and for one hour we walked outside and we found 3 people and gave them all Book of Mormons! It was so great. One of them happened to be Spanish and she let us in her house and everything. She is super nice, her name is Juana and she has a strong faith in Jesus Christ. We have another lesson planned for her this weekπŸ˜„ Later that day as we were at these other apartments, we say these 2 Spanish ladies outside and just started talking to them. Lourdes already had a Book of Mormon that was given to her like 5 years ago and she sometimes reads from it! Her friend Irma was awesome and wanted a Book of Mormon too and just started reading it. It was a great, short and powerful lesson on the Restoration and what our beliefs are. Me and Hermana Zaugg found Lourdes again last night and read the Introduction to the Book of Mormon with her. She understood it and had a lot of good questions for us...like baptism. We explained why we believe being baptized by the proper authority is important and how we can follow Christ's example through baptism. She is going to pray to know if this church is true and if baptism is something that is for her or not. I hope she receives her answer...and I know she will❤

Oh, I hit my 8 months last week also. It's crazy to think that I'm almost halfway through my mission. Also, this transfer will only be 5 weeks instead of 6 weeks because of the holidays next month. So I feel like this transfer is going to fly by so fast! I just want you all to know that I love you and that I keep you all in my prayers! Have a good week! Find opportunities to serve people around you or in your community. I can promise you that the Lord will help you find those who need that help right now. Te quiero muchΓsimo!

October 31st

Happy Halloween everyone!!
Well this week has been pretty well. We have just been seeing a lot of our work pay off recently and it's so great. I really truly love this area so much. This Saturday is transfer calls and I have no idea what's going to happen...all we know is that our trio is going to split up sadly πŸ˜© I've had so much fun this transfer and I have learned so much from my companions. This is one of the best transfers I've had so far on my mission. I'm so grateful to be working with such great examples and such hard workers. πŸ‘πŸΌ❤
We've been working a lot with our investigator Daniel who is on date for November 19 for baptism. He's SO awesome and super solid. I love his family so much. Last night I just felt the love that they have for us. We taught Daniel and his 2 friends he invited to church the Ten Commandments and they loved it! They all memorized them and just wanted to learn more. I LOVE working with children who are so receptive to the gospel. Daniels mom, Hermana Joya, gave us Mexican hot chocolate and pan dulce at the end which is so great❤️ We are excited for Daniel and I can't wait to see him get baptized!
This past week we had exchanges again and I was with Hermana Nokes and it was one of my favorite exchanges ever!! We found 4 new investigators for their area, East Sac, and we just had so much fun. I hope someday to be her companion in the future because she's super awesome and fun. She helped be learn a lot and I'm grateful for her example. We ate at Panera and just had a lot of success together. Also I got to see one of my favorite sisters, Sister Hyde❤️ πŸ˜„
We got a new Ward mission leader who is SO super helpful. He came out with us Saturday to a few finding appointments which was awesome. He has a lot of good ideas and is willing to help out with anything.
This week we were finally able to do a little service. The zone leaders and us went to a council for all religions in the area and we handed out name tags and greeted everyone to the meeting. It was great to be a representative of Jesus Christ to people of other faith.😊 Also we did an orientation with the whole zone at a local food bank so we can start doing service there and I'm so pumped! I've missed doing service!
All that we've heard lately is about Los payasos, which means clowns. I heard there was a clown purge on Sunday and that their all over the US. All the little kids say they're scared to go outside and how they won't be trick or treating this yearπŸ˜• It's super sad! I hope you all stay safe tonight if you're going trick or treating! I love you all and I'll let you know what happens with transfers next Tuesday. Have a good and Safe week everyone!
Te amo!❤

October 24,

Hola!!
Well this week was a lot of work! But it was a lot of fun! We found some new investigators that we are excited to teach this coming week.
One investigator that we have been teaching is Daniel who I've mentioned before. His mom is a less active and she's trying to come back. They came again to church and loved it. We had a few lessons with him and last night we invited him to be baptized November 19 and he said yes! He's so excited and we're so excited for him. He's such a sweet kid who always has a lot of questions and is super smart! He always remembers what we teach him.πŸ‘πŸΌ I've really come to love this family so much and I'm excited to see Daniel enter into the waters of baptism. They have a kitten named princess so I'll attach the pic I took of himπŸ˜„
Our ward had a dance on Saturday so we were able to go for a bit and talk to some less actives and watch the members danceπŸ˜‚ it was fun to see everyone having fun as well. One of our new investigators is from Peru and his name is Andres. We had a good first contact with him by showing him the He lives video. He was super nice and invited us back for this week.
We also went to an appointment at these apartment complexes and talk to all these little girls❤️ I first just offered princess stickers because I always carry them around for the kids and then we showed them the He lives video and talked about Jesus❤😊 They were super sweet and just so cute. I ended up giving one of them a Book of Mormon and they were all excited to read it together! So precious!πŸ’•
Today we went as a zone to a corn maze/pumpkin patch and it was so fun! Lots of pictures to come with everything. Not all the elders came but we had a lot of fun hanging out and getting to know each other more! I love the fall weather❤❤πŸŽƒ I hope you all have a wonderful week! Find ways daily to share the gospel with someoneπŸ‘πŸΌ te amo!

October 17,
Hello everyone,
So not too much this week but I've learned a lot! We have been driving around a lot this past week trying to find our investigators but haven't had a lot of luck. I had exchanges and me and Hermana Zaugg stayed in North Sac while Hermana Nokes came here. I had to drive since Hermana Paredes went to east sac so I had to get to know the area more...but I got it! I'm getting used to the area now so I'm glad I'm finally getting the hang of North Sac. πŸ˜Š we forgot to take an exchange picture unfortunately...but I'll remember for next time!
We found this guy Jesus about a week ago and then the other night we had a lesson with his wife Eva and they totally want to change! We taught them about prayer and why we don't recite or memorize them...that it comes from the heart instead. They really enjoyed it and want us back again! I'm so excited to teach them!!
We have another progressing investigator Daniel who's 11. He is so cute and we invited him to read in the introduction to the Book of Mormon and he did! He always asks us really good questions too and he is super smart. The mom is very sweet and is less active. She wants Daniel to get baptized since all the rest of her kids were baptized. She hasn't been back to church in a couple years and so we invited them to come and they came! All of the members welcomed them and they just had such a good time. Daniel loved class and made some new friends so we're excited for himπŸ‘πŸΌ we want to put him on date soon this week because we know he has that desire!
We had some interesting encounters this past week though. I was offered weed the other day by some teenagers who we were talking to about Jesus Christ and in the middle of the conversation he starts smoking and offers me some lol. I was like no we don't smoke haha. Also we talked to these homeless ladies and they had us all hold hands and one of them said a prayer and in the middle of it she starts speaking in tongues. Super weird experience, they had good hearts but not for the right reasons haha.
Life is great though. I had a talk with Hermana Nokes, one of my sister training leaders and she gave me some good advice. Our district has also been talking about sacrifices and how we might need to make some new ones or change them up. So I started some new sacrifices this past week and I've definitely seen the changes in my mission. I've learned to just forget myself and get to work. I love my mission and I find myself getting lost in the work here😊 I hope you have a good week! Te amo muchΓsimo ❤

October 10,

Hola amigos!
So this week was kind of crazy. We had a baptism that went super well and just was such a good experience. But, before I talk about that here's what happened this weekπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌ

We've been teaching this lady named Luz and she was super strong when we first met her and she says she's been reading in the Book of Mormon and just really enjoyed going to church as well. We tried going over a few times this past week since that first lesson and she just is super sick and the other day she just tells us that she'll just have to call us to see when we can come by againπŸ˜• She has asthma and it's really bad. We got some members to take her to the doctor and everything but it's gonna take some time to get better. She was on date but then we took her off because it's gonna have to be pushed back a little bit.
Recently we've been working with a boy named Daniel and he's such a good kid. His family is less active and he's the only one in the family who hasn't been baptized yet. The mom really wants him to get baptized so we're just teaching him the lessons right now. They had us over for dinner last Friday and we had a super good lesson focusing on Joseph smith and how he restored the church. We gave him and his mom both a Book of Mormon so they can read it together😊 they were super excited to read it! We're having another lesson tonight so I hope they read the introduction together like we committed them tooπŸ‘πŸΌ
I've finally have gotten to meet some of the recent converts here in our area. Juan is a really good guy who has a strong testimony. He just gets a little discouraged sometimes. He has a daughter, Fatima, who is interested in learning more so we've been trying to teach them but they cancelled yesterday. We hope to find them both again so we can teach them together. I sang "Soy un hijo de Dios" to Juan and he loved it.❤️
This week we were able to find a few new investigators. One of them being victor who was dropped a few months back. We just started talking about prayers and then went into the plan of salvation right on the spot. He's a young guy, 19, and he speaks English with us. He's really funny and has a lot of questions. He told me something that made me laugh he kept looking at me and then all of a sudden he says "your eyeshadow is Dope!" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ So Many people have commented on my makeup on my mission...but that was the most interesting comment so far lol😝
One recent convert that I love is Lorenzo. He got baptized back in July and has SUCH a strong testimony! He is one of the strongest recent converts I ever met. On Sunday's all he does is go to church and then he sits at a park and reads the Book of Mormon! We had a great lesson with him yesterday after church on how the Book of Mormon is a blessing. He's such a sincere guy...we have to find him a wife pronto!! πŸ‘πŸΌ
So of course we had Laura's baptism and it was just wonderful. So many people came to support her and of course all the missionaries who've taught her as well. She has such a kind heart and sweet spirit. She can't wait to be sealed with her family forever❤❤️ Me and Hermana Paredes were able to sing her favorite hymn to her at her baptism too. She loved it! Also president and sister Jardine were able to come and support as well! Such a great experienceπŸ˜„
This past week I also had an interview with president Jardine. I just love him and his wife so much, they just bring so much joy in my life as a missionary. They have so much love for all the missionaries. President Jardine always gives me good advice and tells me I have such a strong spirit and he knows that I have a lot of patience. That's something I've noticed on my mission is that I do have a lot of patience. Other missionaries recognize that in me and I didn't realize it until recently. I'm thankful the lord has helped me be patient with everything. It helps me feel at peace with the work❤️ Well I hope you all enjoy your week! Love you all!

October 3,
Hola!

Well this week was pretty hectic for sure. Being in a new area and also just being in a trio is different. But, we are starting to get a lot of things done here so we're excited! Here's what happened.

Tuesday was transfer pday and we were able to go to the temple. We unfortunately made it to the session late so we had to do ceilings instead. It was a really great experience and I enjoyed it a lot. They also did some in Spanish so that was even better.

We were able to find a lot of our investigators this week but it was crazy trying to see everyone. We cover like 3 different areas, so almost the whole stake besides Del Paso Heights which is where the Spanish elders cover because it's too dangerous haha. But we're getting used to the area still, it's been fun. But we're planning on getting the area split soon after it gets approved.

Thursday we had a wedding for our investigator Laura! She's so awesome and I actually met her once on an exchange months ago, but yeah she got married so the wedding was great! It was fun setting up and it was so cute. I'll add a picture of them. Bishop was able to do the ceremony for them so it was great. Laura is getting baptized this weekend and we are so happy for her! I'm excited for her and she's been being taught for at least 3 years! So this weekend will be exciting for us. She had her interview yesterday and passedπŸ‘πŸΌ

Of course I was able to watch general conferenceπŸ‘πŸΌ I loved it so much. Saturday morning a member had us and our recent convert Lorenzo over for breakfast. I had to watch that session in Spanish so I didn't understand completely everything but for the most part I did. All of the other sessions we went to the stake building. One talk I loved was from Elder Gary A. Stevens about the Book of Mormon. So much power and spirit was there and I just really enjoyed his talk. A lot of talks centered on the doctrine of Christ and member work in the church. Overall I enjoyed it a lot. It always makes the day betterπŸ˜„

I hope you all were able to watch general conference as well. Let me know what you thought about it or which one you liked? I know that the Lord knows each and every one of us...he knows our needs and loves us so much. I'm grateful to be a missionary right now, to be able to teach others of our savior Jesus Christ. I hit my 7 month mark yesterday and I'm so glad I've just accomplished so much so far on my mission. I'm able to understand the language a lot better and I'm able to communicate so much smoother. I just thank the lord everyday for helping me find his children. Love you all! Take care!❤

September 26,
Hola everyone!!

Well, I have some news. I got transferred out of Rancho Cordova!! We had transfer calls on Saturday and now I am in the Rio Tierra West And East areas in North Sacramento!! Also...I have 2 companions now so we are in a trio. Super unexpected and I was so surprised. I'm excited to see where this new transfer takes me! I already love my two new companions Hermana Zaugg and Hermana Paredes❤❤️ They are so awesome and we are already having so much fun together as a trio. A lot of stuff happened this past week though!

One day me and Hermana Justiniano went to try this diner for lunch and we met some guy there who just started talking to us about the church and what we do as missionaries. He was really nice and really appreciated our work. He ended up leaving and shortly after when we went to go pay the guy working there says that it's all taken care of...so the guy we talked to paid for our meal! It made our day and just how our impression on people in our daily life can appreciate our example as a servant of the lord Jesus Christ. Such a good experience!

Friday we had the baptism for our investigator Luis! We found him and taught him one transfer, then we ended up having the elders take him and teach him. So it was great to see that he was baptized and truly has a love for the gospel. I'm so proud of him and the branch was there to support him as well. Luis wanted me to sing so I decided to sing a duet with Elder Bingham, one of our zone leaders, and we sang Abide with me 'tis evening tide, in Spanish of courseπŸ’πŸΌ It was so great! Such a wonderful and spiritual day for everyone!

Saturday was busy as we went to Selvin's farewell party before he leaves for his mission in a few weeks. Lots of members were there and it was just so much fun!! There was karaoke and games and so much food...one of my favorite parties I've been to on the mission!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜„ After we were able to watch the general women's conference at the stake center which was just so inspiring! I personally enjoyed Elder Uchtdorfs talk and how he told the story of his wife...4th floor, last door. After the meeting me and Hermana Justiniano just went finding and tried to knock on as many doors as we could. I'm so excited for conference this weekend too! I know that the Lord knows our needs.❤️ Saturday night I found out that I was leaving to north sac and I cried like a baby thinking about the members and investigators that I was going to be leaving. I just love Rancho so much and I'll miss it so much.

Sunday was just a day spent of visiting members and investigators before I left. It was a sad day but full of love that I felt in that area. Of course I'll miss it...but I'm excited for this change. I know that the Lord needs me here in this area. This Sunday I'll be hitting 7 months in the mission! I'm so excited that I've come this far already! So much in myself has improved and my testimony has grown. I love my mission and hope that it just keeps getting better. I love you all and I invite you to share a talk, quote, scripture that you like from conference on social media or to a friend! I promise that the lord trusts you to help his children come unto our savior Jesus Christ. Te amo!

September 19,
Hey everyone! Sorry my email is so late but we had a zone activity today. It was super fun and me and Hermana Justiniano planned it allπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜„ We played a lot of games together including some water balloons and just spending some quality time with the zone for the last week of the transfer! I can't believe the transfer is over almost! It's gone by so fast!

So not too much time today to email but we had a pretty good week. We went on exchanges and I got to be in east sac for a day with Hermana vergary. It was fun for sure! I learned a lot from her.   This week we also celebrated Samira's birthday with the youth and it was really fun! Not too much has been going on recently. I'm excited but nervous for transfer calls this Saturday. I don't know what is going to happen.

I hope you all have a good week! I miss and love you all. Something I really learned this week is if God really knows me. It's one of the questions of the soul I'm preach my gospel and I pondered it this week along with Alma 5:38. I invite all of you to read this scripture and ponder this question this week. Have a good week!

Adios,
Hermana Scott

September 12,

Hola!
So this week was pretty great. Lots of singing and lots of tears this
past week. I'm just seeing the fruits of our labors turn out so well
and I'm so grateful that I'm here to see it happen. I'm grateful for
the Lords hand in our area.

So on Monday we had a good day until we went to our lesson to
Guillermo. When we got there he was acting sort of odd and had his
large scriptures and calendar we gave him in a plastic bag. He started
talking to us and just told us that he's basically going to die any
day now. We already knew he has a lot of medical problems but they're
just getting worse and worse every day. He told us he doesn't want us
to come anymore because he doesn't want us to see him suffering. Me
and Hermana Justiniano started to cry because I've taught him like
almost my whole mission so far. It was really sad. We both got in the
car and we just sat there for a minute then we both just started
bawling in just hugged for a good 10 minutes. I'm sad that it has come
to this, but I know he will get baptized on the other side of the
veil. I just love that old man❤️😭

This past week on Tuesday we had team-ups with the STL's which was
really fun. I got to be with Hermana Nokes and all of us met up for
lunch and ate some really good Sushi. It's my favorite sushi place
here and it's so goodπŸ‘πŸΌ❤️❤️ We didn't find and new investigators but
we did find Elsa again and just got to see how she is. I miss Elsa a
lot. We did see her again this week but she was busy so we made
another appointment for this next week so hopefully we'll be able to
teach her. We also had a surprise birthday party for our branch
president. It was super fun and the Andasol family came as well! I
love being with the branch and just getting to know them more❤️

On Wednesday we had Zone Conference which was really exciting. We
talked a lot about planning more effectively. We now have what's
called "simplified planning guidelines" that we can use for daily
planning and weekly planning. It's been really effective and really
nice to use. I like it because it's more specific for each
investigator that we're gonna have that day or during the week. I also
got to sing a solo at zone conference in front of half the mission so
that was exciting. I sang I Stand All Amazed and the last verse I sang
in Spanish of course πŸ’πŸΌ The hymns just sound so much prettier in
Spanish πŸ˜„❤️ It was nice to see a lot of missionaries I haven't seen
in a while and it's nice not to be the new missionary anymore
tooπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Š I really enjoyed Zone Conference and learned a lot about
myself and what things I need to change and be better at.

Saturday we had a very special day....Felipe got
baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!πŸ™ŒπŸ½ It was such a wonderful day full of the
spirit. President and Sister Jardine even came with their parents! We
had almost the whole zone come, missionaries from the office, members
from the branch and also some other members of the stake and English
wards that we've come to know supporting Felipe. There was about 50
people there so it was great❤️😊 Felipe asked me to sing at his
baptism as well so I just sang I stand all amazed again, all in
Spanish this time. It was just a really special day and I teared up
when Felipe was baptized. It so special when you see the fruits of
your labor and see how much he has grown as a child of our Heavenly
Father. He bore his testimony and everything.

Sunday was also special as Felipe got confirmed as a member of the
church. The blessing was so special and Hermano Solorzano said that he
would serve a mission and have a family and be sealed in the temple. I
can just see years from now all of this happening. He has such a
strong testimony at only 17 years old. He so sweet and has such good
faith in the gospel. He used Facebook and invited all of his friends
to his baptism and bore his testimony to them as well❤️ Such a good
kid and I just see how much love he has for everyone. On Sunday
President Bair of our branch just kinda volunteered me to sing in
sacrament Sunday morning. I just sang I stand all amazed again but
just acapella....so no piano or anything like I had done it before. At
first I was like "it'll be awkward just singing acapella" but by the
end almost the whole branch was in tears. I felt the spirit so strong
as I sang...it made me recognize my purpose as a missionary and how I
can use my talent to share the gospel. I'm so grateful that God has
granted me this gift that I'm able to touch the hearts of God's
children. We also had dinner at an English family's home who the dad
is from the high council and is over our branch so he signed us up for
dinner. They live out in Anatolia which is the fancy, rich area so it
was very different eating there. But, it was nice to get to know them
and having American food haha.

Okay, so that's pretty much what happened this week. A lot more than I
though so I'm sorry this email is really long. I love you all and
please keep Guillermo in your prayers for us please. Gracias por
ustedes y te amo muchisimo. Los vemos!

Con amor,
Hermana Scott
