HOLA EVERYONE!!
Well, this last week was pretty bittersweet with my companion, Hermana Justiniano, as she left me for home on Friday. The week went really well as we went biking a lot and found some new investigators! I always think that biking is not gonna be effective...but it actually was!! And it happened to be really nice outside when we were biking...so yeah, blessings!! It didn't feel real to watch my companion go to the mission office and leave me...I kept thinking that they day would come but not so soon! It was weird and as we both new that it was time to go we bawled our eyes out! I've never cried for any companion like I did for her. I will forever cherish the wonderful memories and experiences that we had together. I love that girl so much and I'm excited for her new adventures and just forever be friends!! That's one thing that I love about the mission is that you become friends with everyone, especially your companions. You just end up loving them so much. My last companion, Hermana Zaugg went home as well which was sad to see 2 of my companions go home!! Everything was very bittersweet for sure. I will miss them but I know that we'll def hang out after the mission :) Can't wait for that!
Anyways...so yeah our teaching pool is now just new investigators that we are trying to just have lessons with. We have a guy named Martin who is pretty cool. We keep having to reschedule with him but tonight we have a lesson...so I hope it all works out! :) Over the weekend I was companions with Sister Moffett because her companion went home too, so I got to be in English work for a few days! It was definitely different but really cool to see. They also work in YSA so it was different going to her ward and seeing all these young people...I felt like I was back home in YSA again lol. But, it was a neat experience and I had a lot of fun with her!
Now for the most exciting part of this email...I got called to train this transfer!!! Yay I'm offically a "mom" now :) Yesterday I got my "baby" and her name is Hermana Hernandez Rivera. She's super cool, kinda shy, but is really sweet. She's from Monterrey, Mexico...so she speaks Spanish fluently! So cool! I feel we are going to get along just great as I help her understand the mission field life and help her adjust to what we do as missionaries. The members are already starting to love her already! I know that she will be a great blessing in this area and I hope we can work together to help this branch. It's weird being the missionary who knows more on the mission...because all of my past companions have been one's who've been on the mission for a while. So, this'll be a whole new experience for me...but I'm so excited! We were able to take pictures at the Sacramento Temple and it was so fun.
Hope you all know that I love you and how grateful I am for your examples in my life. I am enjoying EVERY minute of my mission. I'm hitting 11 months on Thursday which is SO WEIRD....time is going by fast. I only have 7 months left? what??! lol. Now when people ask how long I've been on this mission and I tell them 11 months they're like..."oh, so you're almost done!" and I'm like "NO, I still have time!!!" haha. It's crazy...seriously time goes by so fast on the mission. But, it's fun at the same time. Well, I hope you all have a great week. Until next time! Les quiero mucho!
Hola everyone!!
Well, this week we experienced a lot of rain and heavy winds that kind of impacted our finding this week. So, it was hard to find people because they were all inside and were so confused as to why we would be outside knocking doors when its like a hurricane outside lol. But, that's the missionary life! I love it anyways! lol. We had one really cool contact with this guy who wasn't from the area, but was really awesome. He was so appreciative that we stopped to talk to him about his family and how they can be together forever. He said he will never forget us and that we made his day! I love little moments like that on the mission!
We had exchanges with our spanish STL's this past week and it was so much fun to be back with my "mom" Hermana Woodbury for a day. We had some fun and did lots of finding. We were able to teach a few of the less actives and it was great! I've learned so much with her and I'm grateful that we live so close!! :)
We had a great Spanish training with President Martinez on Tuesday. We talked about goals and how our efforts cannot be wasted when we have those goals set as a companion. I loved how he focused on how if we individually are trying to get closer to God, then we will get closer as a companionship. It's so true too!! It was nice to see some of the other missionaries there too.

Yesterday was Hermana Justiniano's last sunday in the mission, so it was very bittersweet. Her talk was perfect too...trying to encourage the youth to focus on making it to the temple and to share the gospel. We were so excited because the Bolanos family from Rancho Cordova came to see Hermana Justiniano!! Also, they brought Felipe of course who is our Recent Convert that we baptized when we were together!! I missed them so much and I was so happy to be sitting with them in Sacrament. It brought back so much great memories. It's amazing to see my recent convert so well and being such a great example. It's nice to see the fruits of your labors :)
This week is going to be a little crazy, exciting, sad and just bittersweet. I will say goodbye to my wonderful companion Hermana Justiniano this friday as I drop her off at the mission office :( I love this girl so much. She's helped me a lot in the mission and we will forever be friends...especially after the mission! I'm so excited for her and her new journey in the outside world haha. She has such a tender heart and so much love for everyone around her. I just will miss her so much! I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve with her, especially for her last transfer.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember that the Lord loves each of you. God is our Heavenly Father and knows us each individually. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I'm grateful for my family and for the opportunity to serve here in Sacramento. I love the Lord and I love the work. Les quiero mucho!!

Hola todos!!!
We had a really amazing week this past week! We spent a lot of time
visiting our potential couple. They've been through a lot
recently...mainly the husband/boyfriend. We visited the wife yesterday
because she had a lot to tell us. We were able to comfort her and just
share the gospel with her. She had a lot of questions for us that we
were able to answer them with the Book of Mormon. We also shared the
message of the Restoration and showed the first vision video with her.
It was an amazing experience to see her really open up...especially
how she used to read the Book of Mormon back when she was being taught
a year ago. Unfortunately we might have to refer her to a different
ward and different missionaries because she doesn't speak any
spanish...just her boyfriend. But, we are having lunch with her later
this week so we'll see what happens next with her.
We did some finding this week and we were able to find an
investigator the elders found on our blitz. He's a really cool guy who
had a lot of questions about our life and purpose. We went right into
the Plan of Salvation and answered his questions. His mom was also
there to ask questions and listen to our message of God's plan for us.
He accepted the invitation to be baptized and wants us to come back
again. He really has sincere desire to learn! It was awesome.
Our district meeting was focused on teaching repentance through the
Book of Mormon. We all did role plays and trainings on how to teach
repentance through the Book of Mormon. I really learned that it's a
lot easier to teach repentance through the scriptures. Our district
leader is really good at teaching and helping us become better in our
areas. He also is super great at worrying about our investigators and
trying to help them in whatever way he can. It's such a blessing for
sure.
Our branch had 2 people get baptized this week that the spanish
elders were teaching! It was awesome to see all of the members there
supporting them. Me and Hermana Justiniano were there to give the
missionary moment. I really felt the spirit as we taught everyone the
restoration of the gospel. President and Sister Jardine were there as
well and it was nice to see them. It was a great experience because
this branch hasn't had a baptism in like a year. So, everyone was
excited! Something funny is that President Jardine noticed that my
hair's getting longer...idk why I just thought that was funny how he
noticed my hair getting longer...which is true, it is! haha.
So the best part of this week was that Elder Renlund of the quorum of
the 12 apostles came to Sacramento! Friday was a women's devotional
with all of the wards in the Sacramento area. It was packed!! There
was like 1600 women there! But, it was great to hear from Elder
Renlund and his wife Sister Renlund. They're really funny couple. I
enjoyed hearing from them. We discussed two general conference talks
and asked questions. I was also able to see some members from my old
areas like Rancho Cordova and North Sac!! It was a great experience.
Saturday we had to wake up and get ready fast to have a meeting with
Elder and Sister Renlund with just all of the missionaries in the
mission. We took a picture all together and then had about 2 hours
with them. We discussed 3 talks from the past general conference that
they had us study, which was Fourth Floor, Last Door, The Perfect
Path to Happiness and Joy and Spiritual Survival. We really discussed
what the common theme is between all of them. I think it was really
just about faith and how with our attitude and effort through faith,
we can accomplish anything. It's all about having that faith to find
and do the work for me. If I'm positive and put in all my efforts,
then the Lord will bless me and help me teach the gospel. Elder
Renlund is nothing like I thought he was. He is very witty and smart
and funny. He shared many great thoughts and experiences that I really
enjoyed. I'm so grateful that we were able to have a quorum of the 12
come to share a message specifically for us! I'm grateful I was able
to shake his hand and get to know him a little better. Such a
wonderful experience that I'll never forget.
Lastly, our investigator Jose was released last night. We've been
really helping him a lot and just trying to do all we can to help him
with the word of wisdom and talking to his wife to get consent. During
branch council yesterday before church, Hermano Mejia just really said
something that kind of opened up my eyes on Jose and what we need to
do...which is drop him. It was a sad lesson obviously...but it was the
best decision we could make for him because right now he's just
"comfortable" at where he is and doesn't want to change. If he really
had that true desire to be baptized and truly repent and change for
the better...then he'd be over the word of wisdom by now and would
have faith to get consent from his wife. He's an amazing child of God
and I do believe that he'll get baptized someday. But, for now, we
believe that he needs some time away from us, to realize the
difference of the spirit with us teaching him, and without us teaching
him. We are excited to find some new people this week and really work
hard to use the Fourth Floor, Last Door concept. I'm grateful for the
gospel and for the plan that God has for all of us. I know he knows
our needs. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I hope you too can know for
yourself that these things are true through prayer and studying the
scriptures. I hope you all have a wonderful week! Les quiero mucho!
